The Will of the Light

“I’m here to see Bishop Lancaster, he sent for me.” Niviene said to the third priest she’d been directed to, her voice taking on an impatient edge. It had been ages since she’d been to the Stormwind Cathedral and longer still since anyone there had thought to ask for her specifically. Unable to determine what the summons was about, the priestess had agreed to make the journey to the capital, certain she would be home before the school day was over.

“He’s just through there.” the priest motioned vaguely toward a door, his expression harried and dour. Niviene opened her mouth to speak but the man glowered at her and walked away. With a sigh the priestess walked through the indicated door, startled to see a bustle of...

Silent Night

The wind blew Nea’s purple curls across her wet cheeks as the overcast night sky loomed above. Nea was not usually one for normal social gatherings but this was far from normal. She sat on the cold cobblestone sidewalk, her kin peppered around her. Some Kaldorei had been living in Stormwind for quite some time and had adapted themselves to a more human schedule of sleeping at night, but it seemed even those who had the ability to do so weren’t sleeping right now..5cunpF2bTyTJayivZnMhbtfOsyGAj6L6t-SBeKZ1xeNjPUX7Uch89VYNn5LhTyO6JKOSVZW0Qz84uyHXRaRXQNPueHybMC5grKyHJP0je48ZbC0FbahY_L3J1MWxaSUuqdFLtl8H

Nea looked up. The luminescent eyes of those around her were dimmed with tears as well. Some tried getting rest, while others murmured prayers to Elune in hope of comfort. Nea looked down at the small bonfire before her, its flames dancing with wild abandon. While it was...

Free To Go

Braghaman sat quietly in the room that the guards had put him in. They had shut the door and latched it, leaving the paladin all alone. Letting out a sigh, Bragh leaned forward in his seat and rested his elbows on his knees. He shook his head as he thought through the situation. After a few moments, he leaned back in the chair and waited.

With no windows, it was hard for Bragh to measure the time as it passed. He could hear people moving around outside. There were several conversations going on out there, but none of them really attracted his attention. He knew that there was only one conversation that he’d be interested in hearing. He also knew that if it involved his wife, that he’d have no trouble knowing what was said.

Answering Questions

Braghaman sat quietly next to the desk as the guard gathered a pad of paper and sat down across from him. It took the guard a moment more to get settled and set his pencil to paper. Then, he looked up at the paladin.

“Bragh Larethian.”

“Where do you live?”

“Over in Duskwood?” the guard asked, looking up from his paper.

“Yes,” Bragh answered, barely fighting back the smirk and sarcastic comment.

“What brought you to Stormwind today?”

“I had a meeting.”

“Where at?”

“The Cathedral.”

“Looking for some healing, Mr. Larethian?”

“No,” Bragh said, frowning slightly.

“Who were you meeting with?”

“Lord Shadowbreaker.”

“Shadowbreaker? A bit old to start...

There He Is

“If he’s still in Shattrath, I cannot find him.”

Braghaman looked at Erik for a moment before nodding. Turning his gaze, he looked over to the memorial for King Varian. Even in a crowded, busy city like Stormwind, this area was calm and quiet. “Are you sure he’s still in Shattrath?”

“No, I’m not,” Erik answered with a shrug. He followed the paladin’s gaze and looked at the large monument. “If he is, he has found some place I cannot access. If he’s not, then he managed to slip past the portal keepers.”

“Or he found a different way back here.”

“That is also a possibility.” Erik paused for a moment, then looked back at the paladin. “Why would he hide from you?”

“I don’t know. If he is, I’m...

Goings-on In Stormwind

Braghaman stood on the overlook, gazing down at the Stormwind docks below. Ships were steadily coming in and settling in as sailors and dockhands busied themselves with tying off the boats to the moorings on the docks. No sooner had a boat been secured than people started to disembark. There was a steady stream of people, mostly Kaldorei, walking on the docks and heading towards the ramp that led to the main parts of Stormwind.

The paladin hooked his thumbs on his belt and quietly started to count the people who were getting off the latest boat. Ultimately deciding that the number was too high, he shook his head and gave up. Reaching out, he rested his hand on the butt of the haft of his war hammer, which was sitting on the ground...

Need To Help

Marachius finished brushing down his horse in the stables. The patrol had been mostly uneventful, but the paladin took special care with his horse none-the-less. Once he had finished, Marc put some feed in his horse’s stall and put up the rope that kept it from wandering off. Picking up his sword, helm, and medical kit from the ground beside the stall, he then headed out.

Once outside, Marachius slung his sword over his shoulder and onto his back. With his helm under his arm and his medical kit in his hand, Marc looked around the crowded city. He knew that he should get some dinner after a long day in the saddle, but he wasn’t ready yet. Instead, he decided to walk around.

Without realizing it, Marc first found himself standing...

Mercy and Forgiveness

Dear Diary,

Did you know you are my only true friend? After the trial in Stormwind they assigned me a court ordered therapist. I can't say her name even on your pages. She was a friend for a time... and then she was taken from this world.

I fell in love with a warrior whose hatred for demons scared and excited me. His battle cries were fearsome and his presence on the battlefield was undeniable. I helped disguise him as a wrathguard.

A teacher agreed to take on a new pupil. So yes, I had several friends and yet I still felt distance and disconnection. I requested a portal to Theramore to speak with Ms. Proudmoore about possibly negotiating with the Horde again. Because I wanted the fighting to end and for my family and friends...
