A time for family

Through the entire ride that she made  her mind was elsewhere and everyone was very able to tell.  She had placed the order weeks ago, but she had no idea how she would get down to stormwind to pick it up aside for right now, but this was her time of sacrifice, and it wouldn’t be right for her to go and pick it up, but it didn’t leave her mind for the entire time she was at the graveside, then finally after an hour or so one of the newer soldiers and asked her what was on her mind.  The others deciding to stand back in case she answered the same way she always does, but unlike her normal routine she actually told the boy the situation and he responded that perhaps the voice in her mind was that of her husband and he was telling her that for this week, maybe the sacrifice she must give was that. She was meant to do this for Locke, so that is what she did.  Ensuring that Zenon would get back to hearthglen on a horse carrier on another caravan, she scooped Toni up into her arms and she took the griffin they had offered and the two of them flew down to stormwind right away.

Sticking his head out of the basket several times during the flight, Toni was thrilled about flying. Then she would land finally after a rather long time flying down to the city.  So when she slid herself off of the griffin and getting her bearing she went and grabbed Toni as well, placing him down on the ground and he barked a bunch of times and ran around in a tight circle excitedly.  He recognized this place and barked up at Ann expectantly as she knows exactly what he is so excited.  So when the both of them finally get their bearings and set off, Toni bounces up and down and continues to bark at her and she laughs at him  and answered the exuberant puppers, “Okay, okay we can visit Grandpa.  I’m sure he would be thrilled to see you too.”  Laughing as the excited little Corgi sprinted up and down the landing strip she whistled for him and off they went towards the house that her dad was staying at for the time being.

After chasing after Toni for most of the way there, she had arrived at her father’s home and before she had a chance to knock on the door, her grinning father opened the door and the tiny little pupper leaped up into his awaiting arms.  Rustling with the floof on Toni’s head he graciously allowed the corgi to lick him all over his face and looked over somewhat confused to his daughter.  A grin forms on his all knowing face and he asked,  “So what are you doing here on a thursday? “ And she couldn’t help but laugh and her voice raised as she spoke before ending in what seemed more like a question than a answer,  “We were in the neighborhood?”

Telling him everything and sitting there with an anxious look on her face, Ann awaits hearing what her father might say before he laughs and nods,  answering her to say that he knew and he could tell by everything she was doing.  Pushing her out the door so that she could collect the gift, as well as any other things she might need to include in the present. Then after a couple of hours of shopping and picking all of her needed items up along with the present itself, she headed back to her father’s house and they sat and talked for a while before he took her out to dinner.

Finally after hours of spending time in Stormwind, the older man escorted his daughter to the mage tower for them to send her back much more quickly since the sun was just about setting right then.  Kissing her on the head and loading the present along with the somewhat pouty corgi in her arms he embraced her and whispered to her.  “I’m happy that you’re happy again.” Then finally after severl minutes of embracing she stepped through the portal they had made for Hearthglen and  headed back home to meet the confused looking Locke in front of the house.  Waiting to give him the present until she felt it time.
