Day 3
Words: Autumn/Mask
Evie emerged from the cabin she had rented for the week to gaze out at all of the reds, oranges and yellows that are almost as if they were painted across the forest. Autumn was most definitely her favorite time of year, and ever since she had been banished from Quel’thalas, she tried to make it a habit of going somewhere with the fall colors in full view. While it wasn’t quite the same as it once was, she still could remember times past.
Jaunting back inside to grab a sweater, she rubbed her arms at the chilly weather outside but enjoyed it all the same. Taking her daily trip to walk through the forests of ashenvale. The cabin that she always rents is tucked away in the back of the woods surrounded by a large grove of trees. As she passed through the forest swiftly she held her hand out to touch all of the leaves from the trees that she had passed.
After about a half an hour of walking slowly she came to the same clearing that she did every day so far and had a seat in the middle of it, peering out across the grass and seeing all of the different types of leaves that were littered on the ground. Resting her hand on her heart she reminisced about all of the times that her and her parents would go out and play in the leaves, spending ours at play in them until she would fall asleep atop a pile that her dad had made for her.
Feeling a sense of longing for those times again she winced in pain like every time she would come here, she would head back to the cabin and go about the day. And although she was left wanting for those times to return, she felt a little better this time and more at ease than the others. Hoping that she may be starting to accept and would feel at least a little less broken over time. But, time will tell.
