Lawrence

New "Assignment".

    He sighed deeply as he opened the letter bearing the crest of of the King.  He knew what was coming, and was just trying to figure out how long he had before he shipped out.  Hell, he barely read the majority of the deployment orders he received normally, and this one was no different.  The first time he read it, anyway.  Lawrence put down his coffee and read this order more intently. 

    "Knight-Commander Lawrence Barrenger,

    Your new orders are as follows, due to the unforseen circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the Captain of this chapter and the captain's subordinates.

    -Recruit, arm, and train new members to The Stormwind Guard.  This particular chapter of the Guard has been empty and inactive for too long during this investigation and must be made fully active once more.

    -Train and promote a new Captain to lead this chapter.  Your rank remains unchanged in the Stormwind Military's records and as such are afforded all rights and responsibilities that come with the rank.  The Stormwind Guard and its Captain will report directly to you until official release papers are signed and hand-delivered to the appropriate offices.

    -In your stead, Commander Davis shall lead the 357th Legion to execute all orders accordingly and shall relinquish command upon your return. "

    "Signed, with respect, Grand Marshal such-and-such." Lawrence blew a raspberry at the letter as he set it down.  He never read who signed his orders, because it was a new name all the damn time.  He sat down at his table and sighed, knowing his new orders weren't going to be an easy task.  He was a member of the city guard for the longest time, and was glad to get out of the local scene, but he couldn't even object to coming back for this.  The Guard had created a vast number of soldiers who went on to do great things, and he wasn't about to break that cycle.

    But damn, it was gonna be a headache.
