To be the Moon

Everything seemed to be touched with a silver halo. A moonlit decadence of the impending night that lingered on each blade of grass and leafy branch - fireflies starting their golden dance on a subtle breeze that caught everything up in a float. Leonaess moved as if the circadian rhythm ruled her body, hips cast in hypnotizing sway with the slow accentuation of feminine curves and wiles - all for whom? There was a youthfulness to the fluttering of her heart, a rising color in cheeks as the white witch cast a flickering glance upward with coy attentions from beneath the weight of thick lashes.

“ What are you grinning about? “ His voice was calm, tinged with a masculine husk that sounded terribly familiar. But why couldn’t she place it? It made her heart leap about, excitement fluttering through her like a live wire.

“ Am I grinning? “ Her voice sounded faded, a dreamy distance.  Head ducked to hide behind a curtain of white gold, flames leaping in a tease beneath skin as a glance was cast over left shoulder. The hairs on the back of her neck and along arms rippled with a sinister chill, eyes widening at the reveal of the male figure but before mind had a chance to fully process, the healer found herself pulled towards a shift in scene.

It was from an aerial view, a stream of floating consciousness bringing her closer towards a campsite. This specific spot was situated atop a scenic cliff overlooking a waterfall in Southern Stranglethorn. An exhausted fire was slowly fading, the warm glow buffering against the slumbering form of a youthful Sin’dorei male with hair a richly deep sunset hue. What shattered the shred of calm she could command in this dream state was the two bright amber eyes staring right in her direction. The Trolless was lovely. In a uniquely delicate way, feral but refined and not entirely common amongst the usual Darkspear. Dawning recognition started to form, recognizing the female instantly as Za’ashi , a dancer of Sin’s Corner in Blood Hearth. But what was she doing here?

“ Ju should be goin’ now, likkle bird.” Came a booming speechless hiss, assaulting her mentally and sending her back into an awakened state. The last image was of the dancer’s skin looking like snowy white serpent scales. Slitted eyes an icy blue that seared her soul.

Gasping for breath, body bolted up as adrenaline continued to pump and rage against her frantic system. Slowly sifting through the fog of waking reality, soft moss gaze wandered about her new living accommodations - not really recognizing it at first before the new situations started to weave itself into her addled brain.

After having received an offer to come join The Serpentine Kiss, she slowly started her move into the newly built medical facility. Having chosen two rooms for her particular use, the rest was open for the newly acquired physician. That thought instantly brought the golden haired sprite to the here and now. Had she been loud in her nightmarish sleep? Lithe frame jumped from the bed to retrieve night robe and slippers, slowly cracking open her door to peer about.

Everything was quiet and to her knowledge, the Doctor did not seem to make her living arrangements on site just yet. Finding that sleep was elusive, steps took her towards the back exit where a small fenced in porch had been built for sick visitors to enjoy a bit of fresh air. Settling into a rocking chair, a frown knit brow as eyes peered out into the star-studded black.

Why was she always alone in the quietest hours when thoughts aimed to consume her? Perhaps this was brought on by the conversation with Faldrias. Every waking moment a struggle in dealing with the separation from Lothiun.

“ What are you grinning about?”

The beginning of her strange adventure came to mind, the remembering of it slowly growing hazy with each passing minute. The ache in her heart was beginning to become a heavy thing, the stab of loneliness that appeared in the early hours often left her staring into the night like a lost thing. Eyes searching to find an answer that never seemed to come. In these strange woods surrounding the compound, nestled on the coastal side of the Blasted Lands, her mind drifted towards a ranger shifting like a wraith between the trees. A memory now to join the others who she still saw in various ways throughout her days.

Resolving to put her feelings of emotional unrest  back into a neatly packaged box, a wry smile touched her lips. Body shifting to ease back inside, lighting a host of candles and continue to unpack. But first, a letter needed to be written.
