To Felwood

The starkness of the faded floral skeleton on her desk gave her pause, catching herself staring at the crumpled, curled in leaves and the petals that retained their resolute curl in a bud; trying in vain to retain some life within. It had drawn mind to the note attached, brows furrowing as if she still contemplated her answer even though knowing deep down there was something darker that lurked urging her further towards whatever end waited in tainted woods.

A deep inhale, moving from nostrils where it flared to guide in an expansion and expelling of the stress and worries that collected heavy on slim shoulders, steps took her towards a travel pack and her favored satchel. An extra set of clothing, a pair of boots, and a beautifully crafted rondel dagger favored amongst Knights found itself housed within the sack. Thoughts finally honed in, worked towards the various letters that she wished to write but within her could not summon the words to do any and all justice. There were words deep and truthful, painful for her to even acknowledge that would remain ashen with only a silent wind to carry them.

But a letter she did write, knowing her sister while busy with her own self-doubts, would understand best the nature of her current affliction and the answers she wished to seek. Housed behind the fel-flame gaze of an Illidari.

“  My dearest Loaireth,

I am departing for Felwood and though I only hope to be gone for a full day, my plans and aspirations for my life seem to be something ever fluid and surprising. If I am gone longer than three days, you’ve my express permission to worry and let a few close others know.

I should have never came to this place. How easy it could have been for me to slip away in Silverpine, untouched and unnoticed by the world with it’s wicked eyes staring back.

Please let the good Doctor know that I will return shortly as I’ve something pressing to address with her and I have not forgotten about our own conversation that has been left to hang for what feels like years.

Until I next see your face,

  Leonaess “

In the early morning hours was this letter slipped beneath the door, the snores of Kydin fading as she took her leave of the Serpentine Kiss compound.
