Marc watched as Reggy headed off after their conversation. It’d been weeks since they’d seen each other; she’d been sent to the front while he was continuing his training at an accelerated pace in Stormwind. But they managed to end up in the same place again and in some ways he felt it was just like it always had been.
And in some ways it was different, he thought to himself.
He was still a bit surprised that she was wearing a dress, even though she’d told him about this change in her letters. Marc had assumed she was telling the truth, but it was still a noticeable change. Once Reggy was out of sight, he let out a slow breath and glanced around the area.
“Not unusual for her to be serious,” he said to himself quietly. “And the thing about being orphans isn’t new. Never really thought about the other stuff, though,” he continued, looking at the ground as he contemplated their discussion.
To anyone passing by, the paladin appeared deep in thought. The expression on his face changed as he considered one idea after another. “And who is this guy?” he muttered to himself, his gaze turning towards the water.
It'll be good for them to be around each other again, though frightening to be at the front!
