Caution Flag

It wasn’t even a question of which one to follow, Regynn’s presence was felt throughout the docks and people would flock to her, eager for the extra food she brought them. Clair pushed off from the wall she’d been leaning on and went after the young boy, certain to stay in the shadows, silent and fleet; fast enough to keep him in sight but not so fast that he might guess she was there.

The child took a winding path, ducking into a muddy alley before he stopped at a large building and looked around. Clair melded into the shadows as his gaze swept the area, her sense more alert now that his actions had become more furtive. Satisfied that all was well he turned to a heavy wooden door. Being only a small child he struggled with the door so much that Clair had to fight the urge to do it for him, but finally he managed to open it far enough that he wriggled into the gap, using his whole body to shove it wider, the door slamming with a thud against the wall. The boy looked around guiltily then disappeared into a dimly lit hallway, not bothering to try to close it behind him.

Clair stood for a moment longer, waiting to see if anyone would come to secure the door before she retraced her steps, leaving the alley and making her way to the road. She pulled her hood up over her head, hiding her shining blonde locks as she wended her way through the people loitering there. It didn’t take her long to find the building in which the boy had disappeared. She didn’t stop to look at it, merely glanced around as she continued on her way, but the sign over the door threw up flags of caution in her mind.

Ashvane Laundry. This would require further investigation.
