Lemon Eyes *Trigger Warning* - Memories of Child Loss

Taliandriah made her way to the inn, reaching up to the box as she entered- pulling her key loose. She'd swing it along her index finger as she walked to the stairs. The woman gave a nod to the bartender, leaning over the side of the railing to grab the glass that was offered. “Thank ya, luv.” This would be the second drink of the week, and only a day apart from the first- it would be a long week, but it was a necessary sacrifice. The girl drew a breath as she clung the wine to her chest. Her finger holding the key stilled as she'd reached the top of the stairs. Eyes cast behind her, looking over the staircase for a long considerate moment...

The woman cleared her throat, eyes casting back to the ground nearby and then subsequently to the glass of wine in her hand. “Right-” She walked across the balcony, eyes moving to each door as she passed- the sound of men thrusting bedposts against the wall, the women screaming in their feigned ecstasy content to leave with a fuller purse then the day before, and sobbing the only sounds that caught her ears. She gripped the wine glass tighter, making her way down the hall towards the room she'd bought out for the month. She closed the door behind her, content to have the sound of the nearby rooms muted and quieted behind the ward.

She'd need to get dressed, find an outfit to go apartment hunting in. She'd asked K to swing around, see if they couldn't make a date of the house hunting- but that would have to be tomorrow, today she'd already decided to make it a day with him, see what could come from the talks the night before.

She'd kept the room simple, a few items brought from her place in Shattrath City, but most of it was new purchases or boxes of items she'd purchased and not yet thought to unpack. She set her shoulders to the door, sliding to the ground with her dress bundled at her feet. The woman's eyes cast over the room in the mid-morning light, it had been a handful of minutes since she'd left the Court of the Sun, and the mage on the far side of the fountain.

The morning had been a blur, she remembered stopping for muffins, as she had the night before. They seemed to be a crowd pleaser with the tarot reader, so they had to work for the Magister- right? The girl hadn't given it a second thought, bringing the unaware Magister a bit more than a basket of muffins that morning.

She looked back over the room, eyes settling on the few things that had been added since she moved to the city- first bottle of wine she'd drank, it sat on the mantle place nearby. The collection of glitter from any one of the Tarts shows she'd attended recently dusted the walls and the couches. She hadn't thought to have them cleaned yet, plus- the glitter would never truly be gone. Couldn't waste the budget on frivolous expenses like glitter removal.

The Magister left the woman with a hundred questions on the tip of her tongue, but she'd known it best to keep them for another time. After all, they'd decided to meet for tea at least once more. He'd have a story for her, and the woman wasn't willing to go back on an agreement.

Her foot rocked, looking down at her toes with a grin. There was a blue polish on her toenails, and the woman had a soft smile grow across her lips. “Blueberry- they said it was the size of a blueberry, an' I'm wearin' fuckin' blue paint...” She stopped, staring at the edge of her toes with a shaken breath. “Shit-”

Lemon. Lemons, why do...The void feeling that filled her mind in that moment washed her senses with the color yellow, the scent of lemons- and the sting of the acid in a freshly cut finger.

She jumped back to the doorway, pinning her shoulders to the wood with a tight gasp. Eyes slipped the room once more as she found her bearings, fingers tight to the wooden planks under her.

She'd been here- she'd lived this... this was a memory-

She stared at the wall across the way, taking a slowly shaking breath as her eyes darted from every piece of furniture back towards the door to the bedroom. There was a light snoring coming from the bed, and her breathing started to pace faster. She moved to stand, looking around.

Had this been the room from before, did she pick this place the first time? The pain was unbearable, she didn't want to bother anyone and it was easier to just find a room. A room that sat among the silencing moans and groans of the city's seedier couples. A room where she tried to hide it, and everything that she knew was going to happen.

Tali's fingers moved to her stomach, clutching at the base of her abdomen. The woman was so thin, there wasn't actually a bump for her to grasp- but the motion remained the same. She stopped short of the bedroom, quirking an ear at the sound- a long heavy snore, male. Her fingers curled to the doorframe, stopping two feet short of the bed. The fingers on her stomach tightened for a moment, before she sank to her knees, and in order – to her rear.

This one was only the size of a blueberry, and she'd already grown worried. Imagine if she'd made it to lemon again...

Her breathing softened, the snoring was still loud- but the raised ass half under the blankets and the mussed black hair gave her a wave of relief. It was now, it wasn't then. She was a fool then, she was a fool now. But, this time- at least it felt like she was on the right path.

Even if that means she ends the path on her own.
