Hale could charm the pants off the devil if there were ever such a thing. It was easy meeting new people and easier to impress at a first meet but keeping them interested or keeping them friendly was the hard part.
“You made them uneasy.” the voice whispered into her ear and without looking, Hale could feel the shadowy presence of her familiar, even being upon the Dreadful Howl in the middle of the sea didn’t seem to change their connection. It was stronger than she remembered it.
“Have I now?” the Priest answered back in a low whisper while casting glances and nods to the deckhands here and there in passing.
She really hadn’t been on a ship for an extended period of time but there was a first for everything. With Lordaeron completely gone, even to the Undead, she was beginning to think any and every last piece of history on her family was completely expunged, all except what her mother currently kept within the Cress estate. After Gilneas, Boralus and the entire reach of Kul Tiras would be her work place; for now. She was keen on working abroad and in several areas all at once.
Hale took a deep breath of the salty air when she reached the front of the ship. The bow of the ship kissed down on the waves which aided in a terrible sloshy feeling in her stomach but the overwhelming freedom and spirit of the air kept her quite uplifted and of a moment, she had forgotten about her following company.
“There will be trouble. Be ready.”
“You sound concerned.” Hale replied against the sound of the waves below and the typical chatter and clamor of the deck masked her quiet words. It had a right to be worried.
Deep down she knew that without her there was no physical attachment for the familiar. She was the very beckon of its existence at the moment and she hadn’t even named it due to it being inconsequential to her as a person. It was simply that. Shadow. It. Spirit – she hardly knew anymore but it anchored her connection toe Void magic all the more since her ritual during her stay in Dalaran and the Broken Isles.
Perhaps exposing her to so many forms of magic and teachings was bound to be the death of her but Hale had no one to blame but her parents for it ultimately being a decision they chose for their daughter many years ago - to be good at everything one had to absorb the world around them and she was hungry for it all.
