Overhearing an Ancient

Once while I was in the forest like I heard one of the Ancients--huge tree peoples--grumbling about something. Not liking when peoples are unhappy I peeked out from behind the tree in my path and like asked:

"So, um, what's the problem? You seem kinda unhappy."

"A Forsaken Priestess used Mind Control on me. Even though they killed her I still feel disoriented and sick."

So we thought about ways to make the Ancient feel better. I asked... well, I dunno what gender they are, so like I asked them: "There's a camp on the other side of Ashenvale with several um... Ancients. Do you wanna go there and ask them for help?"

My new acquaintance agreed and we journeyed across Ashenvale Forest. I rode on their shoulder and we kept our eyes open for like any signs of danger or whatever. We were attacked by aggressive spiders that tried to climb up my acquaintance's limbs. I created a heat source in my hands and then flung a fireball at the nearest spider. It fell off the tree person since I targeted its back and not its legs, which were closer to the Ancient's bark.

The Ancient shook off the spiders with great shaking motions of its entire body. I had to hold on or else like I'd fall? Do you ever wonder what it would feel like to like fall to your death without Slowfall? I don't Diary. I try not to think or feel those kinds of things.

We were greeted by a Night Elf ranger who asked us what we were doing? The Ancient replied that they were sick and we were seeking the camp called the Grove of the Ancients. The ranger said that she would like help us out and give us safe passage yet she needed a favor first. The Ancient said they did not feel like they were dying so they would wait beneath the canopy and take a rest.

"Ooh, I hope that person doesn't like... anyway, yes, I'd be happy to help. We need to get to the Grove of the Ancients as soon as possible. Like what do you need me to do?" I cheerfully asked.

The ranger told me:

"The Orcs have established a camp where their peons cut down the trees to make lumber for their projects. Can you go and destroy their tools so they cannot continue defacing this beautiful forest? Do not harm the peons themselves they are just doing their jobs." She said with a serious look.

I tried to stay in the forest as I made my way to the lumber camp. I didn't wanna get attacked by Horde peoples. Now and again I stopped to wonder... what was I really doing? Yes, it was non-violent, yet at the same time something about getting mixed up in like Alliance/Horde power games makes me feel creepy.

It was nighttime by the time I got to the lumber camp. The peons were sleeping and their tools were locked away. So I crept quietly within range of the camp and hid behind some plant life. Using Shadow Meld I seemed to shimmer away from sight and blend in with the rest of the nighttime shadows. I evaded an Orc woman who always seemed to be watching by just waiting for her to look the other way. Then I moved quickly, as quietly as I could, and approached the building with the tools. I destroyed the lock by melting it, which like, they're so totally gonna notice.

Once inside I looked at the axes and saws they were using to cut down the trees in Ashenvale. I lived in a house too yet my family's way was to shape it within the boundaries of the tree. Orcs, except shamans, couldn't do that could they Diary? I wanna help the Ancient get better and I feel a bit like crying. A heat aura expands around me and then condenses into a spherical flame: My Pyroblast destroyed the entire building and flung me far clear of the camp.

I recognized some landmarks on my way back to my friend though I did like, um... get l-lost a few times. When I came back the ranger and the Ancient greeted me. We soon made our way to the Grove of the Ancients. My acquaintance received some counseling on how to deal with the after effects of Mind Control. I asked him if he wanna have me stay and help him get back home? He said yes, so I sat down to wait, humming a song to myself.

Then I noticed: I was hurt by the explosion. I needed medical treatment. I asked a Night Elf woman if she knew of any quick way to a hospital? She told me there was a Flight Master yet I did not wanna leave my acquaintance. Returning to the Ancient I saw that they were coping well with the aftereffects of the spell.

"Are you okay? I--I am not... I feel like I was injured when I did that job for the r-ranger." I tried my best not to show signs of my injuries so my acquaintance wouldn't feel scared.

"Please allow me to take you to the other Ancients and we will perform a healing ritual." They rumbled.

"By the way my name is Erreth." The Ancient bowed low and then scooped me up in their hands.

They took me to where some other awakened Ancients were and they stood in a circle. They rooted themselves partially in the earth and gently requested the power of the earth to heal Katheraina Violetflower. I was surrounded by a swirl of like leaves and green energy that made me feel totally rejuvenated. At the same time, it only really meant my injuries were rejuvenated, and such energies in my body made me feel like sleepy. So I asked the Ancients if I could rest for a while? They agreed, I tried my best to make a shelter and then cuddled in to go to sleep.

I had dreams that night of going to Val'sharah. Some kind of evil black and red energy was covering everything. I saw a beautiful female green dragon turned sickly looking and savage. I saw a huge horned satyr mocking a group of adventurers over and over. I awoke from my sleep with a sharp gasp.
