Winterveil Wonder

Forsetti ran in circles around the Paladin, his low playful rumbling sounding from his chest. The paper bag in Olathia’s hand must clearly be filled with treats and things for him right? The jade eyed mute rolled that gaze at him with a motion of her hands to encourage him to calm down, her free hand signing that yes there were treats if he behaved. The big lug settled into following his companion, curious wuffs from his nose as he tried to sniff out the delicious prize within the package. Hige joined in garnering a mildly annoyed look from the great lion but his focus only wavered until the paper crinkled in Olathia’s hands.

For Forsetti she retrieved a large, durable toy laced in the felines favorite scent and a bag of treats he would have to be nice to Freyja and Hige in order to receive. The great winged lion drooped, his ears sagged and his tail hit the ground. They smelled so good he wanted them now, but the task of being kind to the small kitten Wayland had brought to the tent seemed impossible. She tossed the toy and Forsetti bounded off to play and roll with it.

For Hige, the Paladin pulled a decently sized chew bone from the bag. Found on her journeys in Zulduzar she had been gifted the bone when the caravan she had been helping found out about her partners great dog. She held it out to him and with a quick head pat he was off to gnaw away at his prize.

The final item in the bag was for Wayland. Lithe steps padded towards the tent opening and pushed it aside. She’d been gone for a few days on diplomatic business and thus her holiday gifting was late. She peered around the shelter with a smile. Tugging the carefully wrapped package from the bag and placing it atop the Monk’s pillow. She didn’t have long to wait around to find him but the note should suffice.

A quick glance in the mirror and she was off to the Commander’s tent for a debriefing.

Within the fabric pouch Wayland would find a small metal pendant on a very badly braided cord. The Paladin had slaved over the fine details of the miniature sized wearable instrument but her skills in fiber-craft seemed to be lacking. The note read:

My love,

Its been difficult to keep this little project a secret from you! I wanted to find something to really make you happy and when you brought home the gift from your secret Santa at Heart of the Raven I had to rethink my plan! It’s not much but over the past month I have been working on blacksmithing again, I gathered the materials on our various dates so that each part has a bit of our earlier adventured embued in it. I know it isn’t as good as your full size harmonica but this is one you can always carry with you and it was made with love.

I’m so blessed to have you in my life, you chase away the fear and unease I’ve felt for a while and I hope I may do the same.

Happy Winterveil~
I love you.

Olathia
