Before You Leave

There is something in me that I cannot shake off. In short, I deny nothing, but doubt everything.

With resolve, Hale stepped forward to the twisted tree. While the tree itself held no familiarity in the strange woods, it was the very door to the tree that had given her worry. For a split second Hale wondered what hallucinations she might have been experiencing – perhaps a dream though she felt very awake. The shadow at her shoulder, Creature, he was silent now. Perhaps the most silent it had been in just about  two years and with his absence her mind was no longer a buzz with his murmurs.

The wooden handle of the door was cold when Hale touched it. Her heart skipped a beat and on the second prance of it she turned the knob and...

Uprooting the Past

Hale didn’t expect the trees to be crippled nor to carry that sly darkness along the blowing winds. It was as if though the land was alive with energy – magic to be precise. Hale had never felt such a connection to Azeroth, not even the little harvest blessings and rituals she and her sister did came close to the raw energy that coursed through her the moment she stepped off the small boat.

The hairs on her neck and arms prickled at the very kiss of the stale wind at her flesh. Part of her even thought she should have worn warmer clothing than she had originally brought.

The Priest ignored the sensation for a moment knowing it would be a matter of time before it passed. It was as if though she stepped into a painting laden with...

The sea was a stranger to the land viper but it was the salt in the air that reminded her of the circles she and her sister would draw along the wooden floor boards at late hours into the night. The wax, smell of sulfur and the burned herbs were a familiar memory and one that was short lived when the crashing waves ceased. Boralus began to crest in the distance and the very cloudy overhang of the air welcomed the crew of the Dreadful Howl. Waves kissed at the belly of the ship and the horizon drew a long picture of muted seafoam green roofs and docks, gulls in the air and the bustle of voices just across the stretch of water.

She had been to Boralus once and only once in search of information before she had found herself along the...

A Stranger Calls

Loredaeron has fallen! Grab the wounded and evacuate.” was the last thing she heard before the city went to hell and coupled with the screaming in the distance and clanging of the swords nearby, Adrian Cress guided his children out of the city, Odelle in tow and it was thanks to their cousin’s quick thinking that they had of gotten out at all. This last memory of her first beloved home stayed with her.

A lingering presence that felt so foreign but there was a large sense of belonging when Lordaeron was spoken about or recalled to the forefront and deepest recesses of her mind.

“You think too much. Your thoughts – a blurred mess.” the voice hissed out along her ear and staring into the mirror within her small apartment,...

Home

The Cress bells were an heirloom to their family name. A remainder of the sacrifice their people had made in Lordaeon when their Prince deceived them and came to the slaughter. They littered the graves of their dead in campaigns all along Northern to keep the dead silent. It was a warning device that the Cress name implemented to ensure their dead was never risen and to this day – they remained an important piece in the family’s history and continued namesake.

It was already apparent that Ottavia would not bare children; not that she was a woman who cared for children to begin with, which all eyes generally gravitated towards Hale. She would, perhaps some day – and the tradition of the bell would continue.
