Letter From The Front

Braghaman walked into his house, shutting the door securely behind him, and set his mace down on the floor just to the side. He held in his hands several envelopes that had collected during the family’s most recent trip to the lake, mail that thankfully had been gathered in the tavern in town while they were gone. Bragh stopped just inside and looked around.

From the sounds of things, the kids were upstairs in their rooms unpacking their bags. Not seeing Niviene around, he assumed she was likewise emptying their bag in the bedroom. With a shrug, the paladin moved over to the kitchen and sat down at the table. Putting the mail down, he began to sort through it and see if anything important had come. There were a couple of letters from Stormwind. “Likely information about new recruits,” Bragh said under his breath. “Or they’re still trying to guilt me into coming back to the city.”

Then the name on one envelope caught the paladin’s eye. He held it closer, inspecting the handwriting for a moment before turning it over and breaking the seal on it.

Commander Larethian,

I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. I have heard that you are once again training students in Duskwood. I’m sure that they will find it to be as rewarding an experience as we did so long ago. If you had not heard, Leiana, Nara, and I are still assigned to the same squad. Daicya and Jhern are still with the Cathedral currently, but I know that they very much wish to return to action.

The reason for my letter is to ask for some advice. Recently, we have acquired a new medic to our team. He seems the capable sort, though he hasn’t had much field experience yet. We are attempting to outfit him with a better set of armor. What his has now is functional, but in my opinion just barely so. Its fine for the kinds of trouble one would come across in Elwynn, but not as useful here in Boralus. We’ve contacted the Cathedral, but they don’t have anything appropriate. It would seem the quickest thing to do would be to acquire it ourselves. Could you advise us on the best place to purchase some new pieces? I know there are several quality businesses in the city, but we’ve never had the opportunity to use one to this point. Any help in pointing us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for all your help in the past and whatever help you may be able to offer in the future. May the Light protect you.

Kiernan
