The paladin walked slowly up the steps to the cathedral in Stormwind. His armor ringing as he climbed the stairs seemed much louder to his pounding headache. When he finally reached the top step, he stopped for a moment to catch his breath. Finally, he took a deep breath and walked into the cathedral. Entering the main hall, a young priest called out to him.
"Brother Faris. Welcome back," the priest called out. Then he noticed the paladin's condition. "Are you okay, Brother Faris?"
"I will survive," Faris grunted. Please find me Father Jeseb." The paladin sunk onto one of the benches while he awaited the priests return. He felt as if he'd barely closed his eyes when he heard footsteps approaching.
Walking briskly towards him was another priest, his white robes flowing around him as he moved. He came up to Brother Faris and sat on the bench next to him.
"Are you injured, brother?" the priest asked. "I will heal," the paladin grunted.
"Things did not go well?" the priest inquired.
"No. There were complications."
"Did Brother Braghaman get away?" the priest asked, leaning closer.
"I do not know," Faris said. "When I came to, he was no longer around."
"I thought you said that the girl would be able to contain him," the priest whispered quietly.
"She did," Faris said, turning to look at the priest in the eye. "There was someone else."
"One of his guild mates?" the priest asked.
"I don't know. The girl said that she was knocked out by the attacker. We never saw them clearly, couldn't say who or what they were. When we woke up, the attacker and Braghaman were gone. No indications where they went."
"Is she okay?" Jeseb asked.
"Yes. I sent her home by gryphon before coming here," Faris said. The priest looked away for a moment, obviously deep in thought. Then he turned his attention back to the paladin.
"You will need to send someone to Darkshire. Do not go yourself, it would raise questions. Send someone to talk with the girl. Make sure she understands that she understands her part in this and that she is to keep her mouth closed. Understand?" the priest said.
Brother Faris nodded.
