The bay was calm and quiet, the warm glow from the windows of the humble tavern acting as a comforting beacon to its patrons in the dimming evening light. Soft leather boots left subtle marks upon the dirt as a females form approached the establishment.
Weeks have flown by and despite her best efforts the Ren'dorei's face lingered in her mind, after centuries of nothing, suddenly he'd thrown himself back into her life and it almost cost him dearly. She clenched a gloved fist and paused just outside the door. What would she do if he indeed was here? Even more so what would she do if he was not... with a shake of crimson locks she pointed her masked face to the building once more before making her entrance. Her eye's scanned the room quickly, no sight of the abnormally tall male upon first inspection, her shoulder drooped only enough to indicate slight disappointment before the woman was right back on full alert.
A male and female bar-tending pair stood at the front bar assisting a small gathering of people, their chattering proving to be a bit too much for the delicate ears of the Demon Hunter as she contemplated a drink to ease her tension. Silently she slipped toward the back bar and a face she vaguely recognized as Talyndre who was speaking to a young red headed woman she had not seen before. She rapped her knuckles on the bar as the male turned his attention to her and took her order, a double shot of whiskey which made its way quickly into her hand. Sliding the gold across the counter she grimaced behind the mask at the lack of a straw, something somewhat vital to her desire to keep her mask upon her face and enjoy her beverage. It doesn't matter its mostly for show, she thought to herself taking the glass and finding a place to stand. The bustling workers must know something, but how to get one to stand still long enough to interrogate them...
Fel green eyes narrowed down her choices, hoping instead to simply catch a glimpse of Dizarak and save herself the painstaking social interaction she really could do without. A tall confident Nightborne caught her eye and she waved him down.
"Is there something I can help you with miss?" he asked lofting an eyebrow at her untouched drink.
"I'm looking for someone, does Dizarak Sanar work here?" she asked trying to sound only mildly interested in the answer.
"Depends on who is asking about him," the Nightborne said in a mocking tone.
"That isn't important, look I just need to know if he's alive."
The male's eyes narrowed and he crossed his arms over his chest, "You know if you want information you sure haven't given me a reason to give it to you. Care to try that again?"
The grip on her glass became dangerously tight, nearly slamming the glass on the railing she had been leaning on, its contents sloshed over onto the wood as she released it, "I'll only say it once more. Is my brother alive or not..." she hissed behind the mask.
"I'm afraid you have still failed to ensure the information is safe with you, better luck elsewhere, now if you'll excuse me." He dipped his head and slipped out of reach as she stewed silently. With ease she poured the drink through the mask and finished it before returning it empty to the bartop and heading once more for the door.
"Zaravala?" she stopped dead in her tracks her face snapping up to see the large void male standing between her and her exit. Cornered like a wild dog her whole form tensed before she managed to stand up tall and regain what little composure she had left.
"Dizarak, I see you survived." she said coldly, her tone hiding the blatant relief her heart hid inside.
His ice blue eyes took in her form and he chewed on that damned lip ring once more, " I'm 'fraid so," he muttered the small green vial in his hand held close to his body.
So he hadn't made it out without some issues, what was in the vial? What hell had he been through the past few weeks? Where is his Golden protector now? She had so many questions but neither the strength nor desire to truly ask.
He's alive. That's all you planned to find out....what now?
Say nothing you fool, leave and don't look back. No one wants to be in the presence of a monster.
Slipping past him with ease she disappeared into the night. The feel of his wordless stare lingering.
