Everything Will Change

Everything will change

He’d tried not to have expectations…he really had. Tried not to think about what it would be like when the man woke up, or what questions he might finally get answers to when both his ‘father’ and 'brother’ were there to produce those answers. But he had…he’d spent the entire week going through and picking which questions he wanted answers to, and thinking about what he’d actually SAY when faced with both of them. All that time? Wasted, as the moment the two were both conscious and near one another it turned into absolute chaos.

Fistfights, yelling, magic used to separate the two. One now sat in a cell while the other was being patched up (again) in the infirmary of his employer. And where did that leave him? Right back where he’d been before…where he always seemed to be…Wondering what in the hell had gone wrong.

Nothing stays the same

Amorthon kept his gaze down as he made his way through the streets of Silvermoon City, back towards Andivia’s apartment. She hadn’t been home when he’d gotten back, and that had probably been a blessing, as he hadn’t been in the best of moods. Now, several hours later, he’d mellowed out but the pain…the ache in his head and chest had persisted. He hadn’t wanted some grand introduction…he hadn’t expected everyone to show up and just get along…he’d just wanted the opportunity to ask, and maybe GET answers.

Nobody here’s perfect

“Just help my sons!” What right did that man have to call him his 'son’? Where was he the first time he had to bury an animal companion? Or the times after that? Where had he been during all those years the ranger had spent struggling to understand why everyone left? …and at this point, what the hell did it matter?image Oh, but everyone’s to blame

Oh, but everyone’s to blame

The ranger paused in front of the apartment door, wiping at his eyes and taking a breath before easing the door open. It was late, and he wasn’t surprised to see the apartment was dark, with Savage barely lifting his head as Amorthon closed the door behind him. He reached down, scratching behind one of the tiger’s ears gently before making his way back to the room he shared with Andivia. Keeping quiet, he made quick work of changing and slipped into the bed, wrapping his arms around the priestess.

Oh, all that you rely on
And all that you can save

He wanted to be angry at both of them…his brother and his father…so badly. But anger wasn’t what was causing his chest to ache and he couldn’t help but wonder if there’d ever be an answer to his questions that would alleviate that ache.

Will leave you in the morning
And find you in the day
