Frustration

Flashes of blonde hair, kind eyes, a gentle voice, and a genuine feeling of being cared for. His head was throbbing and had been since he left his meeting with Dr. Selatiir. He’d slept when he’d gotten back to the Jade Forest…well, he’s slept for a few hours before spending the rest of the night staring up at the ceiling as the headache renewed and vision after vision assaulted him. He groaned, setting his elbows on the table in front of him as he set his head into his hands, closing his eyes as he tried to will the pain back.

A soft tiger plushie, well-worn and covered in a familiar scent. The small stuffed animal was pulled tight against his chest as he fought to ignore the raised voices outside his door. His grip tightened as the door opened, relaxing as a female figure entered. A sniffle, followed by his face being buried against the stuffed tiger as fingers ran through his hair in a comforting manner.

A cart, several unfamiliar faces, and an overwhelming sense of dread. ‘Where’s minn'da? I’m not suppose ta go without her…athfiore said so.’ A low growl, and a sense of foreboding. ‘Your mother is…meeting us there. As for your brother, well he’s not here is he. And what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him. And all of that won’t matter in just a little while.'Ann'da…?’ Another sneer and then..nothing.

The ranger growled, lifting his head and pushing away from the table as he stalked outside. He took a slow steadying breath as he made his way down to one of the monastery’s ponds. With a tired sigh, he eased down, running a hand through his hair. He’d been hesitant, but it was clear, and becoming more and more clear with each hour and each subsequent headache, that this…situation was not going to stop until he got answers…whether he wanted them or not.

I’m sorry to bother you with this, as I know this entire situation requires some time to adapt…but I was wondering if you might have time to meet. Not right away, as your last letter indicated that you’re quite busy with your people…but soon.
