Boots On The Ground

Braghaman stepped next to a group of Draenei on the teleportation pad. His friend, Heradus, glanced at him and nodded, a slight smile on his face, before he turned to the one at the control panel. Braghaman looked down and closed his eyes, tensing up in his neck and shoulders. He’d been told that it was no different than using the portals in the mage tower in Stormwind, but the paladin was convinced that it felt different. He heard the switch get thrown and tensed up a little more before the blinding light flared around him.

After a moment, Braghaman felt his boots hit the ground. Letting out a breath he didn’t know he was holding, Bragh opened his eyes and looked around at the scorched setting of Argus. As he looked around, Braghaman noticed Heradus looking at him with a gentle grin. The Draenei patted him on the shoulder and laughed quietly, but said nothing further.  Braghaman shook his head a little and smirked.

“I must look like a child,” Bragh said with a sigh.

“Not at all, Friend Braghaman. The teleporters, they are not for everyone I think.”

“Small comfort. I’ve stood in front of dragons and don’t think I clinched up as much as that thing makes me.”

“It is okay, my friend. I will not tell a soul.”

Braghaman smiled and was about to reply but was cut off.

“Larethian!”

The paladin and his Draenei friend turned to see the head priest storming towards him, a scowl on his face and two young paladins following close behind. Giving another quick sigh, Braghaman arranged his features as neutral as possible.

“Why are you back here? I thought I told you that you weren’t needed or wanted here.”

“I asked Brother Braghaman to be here with me,” Heradus broke in. “He is here at my request.”

“Your request?” the priest said, caught off guard. “Why? I sent him away before.”

“And I have asked him back.”

“He’s a loose cannon. He won’t follow orders.”

“Is that true, Brother Braghaman? Did you ignore his orders?”

“No, I don’t believe that is true,” Braghaman answered flatly.

“I told you not to go after those troops.”

“You did,” Braghaman conceded. “But as we established before, I didn’t work for you. So while you could suggest, I didn’t take orders from you.”

“Splitting hairs,” the priest spat. “You are still a bad influence on the younger troops and I will not watch you subvert them.”

“Then perhaps,” Heradus interrupted again, “you should keep your gaze elsewhere. My friend is here at my request.” The Draenei crossed his arms and looked down at the priest.

“Fine,” the priest eventually spat out. Muttering under his breath, he turned and stormed off.

“You know he’s not happy about this,” Braghaman said quietly.

“Then it is a good thing that I am not here to make him happy. But enough of these things. We should get to work.”

Poor Bragh.  Yay for Draenei!  That priest seems like exactly the npc who Pay should forward her request for two twenty year old, human male, healadins to.

Unfortunately for Bragh, he has a history with the Cathedral in general. Was even banished from it once. This priest however is a recent development. He tried to order Braghaman not to do something and then got really upset to find out that Braghaman wasn't in his "chain of command" and didn't really need to listen to the priest.

Poor Bragh.  I do know this, though, I'm a loyal fan!  Though I keep Pay in blissful ignorance, so we have something interesting to talk about in game when I randomly walk up to you and demand rp at awkward, unplanned, moments.
