Family Lies - Part 1

Most of Alaris’s time lately was occupied with finishing things up for the release of his next novel but now that that was nearly finished, he had been helping Saeil with much of the things needed to get the dance studio up and running. The sale of the building was nearly closed but some papers had been needed on Saeil’s end. Which the novelist had been having some difficulty finding. They hadn’t been in the place all the other legal papers of the family members were, which seemed a bit odd since Saeil hadn’t taken them with him when he had been sent away from the estate.

He had expected that maybe the papers had been lost or misplaced. He definitely hadn’t expected what he found, that was for certain. He sat there and stared at the papers for what was likely hours, trying to make sense of it. How had he not known? He never heard talk of anything that made him even suspect that this was possibility. For a moment, he wondered if it was even true. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized it very well could be true.

Alaris himself would have been very young when Saeil was born. They were about the same age. Only about a year between the two of them. It’s not like he remembered his mother being pregnant with him or any of that and he had never seen pictures. It could also explain why his parents never treated Saeil the same way, why they were able to cast him out, never check on his well-being.

It was because Saeil wasn’t even their child at all. 

Saeil wasn’t his brother. 

Not even a relative. 

How was he even going to explain this to Saeil?
