She clicked her comm off, effectively hanging up on Raerys. Trisandrah stepped over the broken teacup and marched through her room to Duir.
Whap
So it’s okay for you to lie to me? Hide the truth?
Pow
How dare you? How DARE you?
Tris raged and screamed at Duir. At Raerys. It had been a long time since she’d been so angry at someone close to her. Those feelings gurgled and bubbled and she didn’t like them one bit.
What a fool you are. You think everything is better? All that she held against you? Is it okay for her to do the same thing?
Bam
The auction went better than she had anticipated. The night had on a pleasant note but she had attributed that to lack of sleep and a couple of drinks. To wake up to Raerys and this?
The last few days had now certainly reminded her of the reasons for walls. Everything was much better when they were in place. She didn’t feel.
As she beat Duir into submission, she rebuilt those walls. One punch at a time.
It wasn’t over. She still was going to say her piece.
She clicked the comm back and did just that. In the end, she would stand by her promise. She wouldn’t go over to punch Raerys as she had told her she could. She wouldn’t do anything to try to hurt Ouro. Maybe Raerys had asked for it all. Tris had never approved of all they did but never objected because she said it was what she wanted. Now she had seen what he was. Was it only a matter of time before she saw what Trisandrah truly was?
No. The barrier was raised once again for good reason.
She crawled back into bed and sent one more comm message.
“I love you too! I’ll see you in the morning for a run!”
Such a dichotomy! You never know what Trisandrah's really thinking when you see her.
