“And once you finish your training in Northshire, you could come here to continue to learn in the ways of the life,” the older priestess said as she led the young lady into the great hall of the Cathedral.
“That would be nice, sister,” Sabina answered quietly as she followed along.
“And here we have Sister Tessa from Gilneas,” the priestess said, gesturing to another priestess who was crossing their path.
“Good morning, Sister Martha,” the Gilnean priestess replied. “Good morning, miss.”
“This is Sabina, Sister Tessa. She will be going to Northshire to start her studies.”
“That is wonderful,” Sister Tessa answered. She looked at Sabina for a moment. “I’m sure that you will find the experience exhilarating.”
“Thank you,” Sabina replied, offering a hesitant smile. “I’m looking forward to it.”
“Well, if you’ll excuse us sister,” Sister Martha began. “I’m afraid we have an appointment to get to. I’m sure we’ll have Sabina back here before we know it.”
“Of course, Sister Martha. It was a pleasure to meet you, Sabina. Light watch over you.”
“Thank you,” Sabina responded. Then she followed as the elder priestess led her towards the front of the Cathedral. As they passed the main doors, Sabina blinked a couple of times as the sunlight filtered through the clouds above Stormwind. A carriage with a driver was waiting at the bottom of the steps.
“Are we going back to Darkshire?”
“No, child. A room is being provided for us to use at the keep here in Stormwind. Someone from Duskwood is coming to meet us there.”
The two women walked down the steps to the carriage and climbed in. As soon as the two were settled in, the driver clicked his tongue and the horse pulled off. Minutes later, the carriage pulled up to the steps below the keep. Sister Martha climbed down and thanked the driver, then turned back to Sabina. The young lady looked up at keep and her jaw slowly dropped as she took in the size of the building.
“Its pretty large, isn’t it?” Sister Martha asked.
“I’ve never seen a building this big before,” Sabina said. “Its so much more than I expected.”
“Well, we might as well get moving. Those steps don’t decrease in number the longer you stare at them.” Sister Martha gently took Sabina’s arm.
“Do you think the king is in there?” Sabina asked quietly as they climbed the stairs.
“That’s entirely possible. But I wouldn’t expect that we will see him. He has been very busy lately.”
“Sure,” Sabina replied with a short nod.
