A human warlock that no one knew drifted into Dreadscar Rift. She convinced two other warlocks, myself included, to perform a summoning ritual that would bring in her coven from somewhere on the Broken Shore. Believing that she was telling the truth and feeling we needed each and every drop of help against The Burning Legion I asked the other two warlocks in attendance--a goblin with jeweled earrings and scars on her face and an orc who had graying hair--what did they think about the human woman's offer?
"She seems trustworthy and besides, girly... whadda think every warlock and demon available in the place is gonna do if they attack?" The goblin smiled examined her long polished fingernails.
"I agree with her," Tiagra was gesturing at the goblin.
"If she's lying then she would die. There are too much of us. If she's telling the truth then should we welcome her into our group?" Tiagra sounded thoughtful and leaned on the staff she carried, which was made out of wood.
"Ah ha. Perfect. We get more allies and we'll surely receive some good words about us among the Black Harvest." I smiled a scarlet lipstick smile and then turned around to walk to the center of a pile of various ritual items including bones, fires on tall torches and circles and symbols drawn on the ground.
The three of us joined each other grasping hands lightly in the circle. We concentrated our feelings of wanting the warlocks at the base camp on the Broken Shore would join us. The symbols drawn on the ground lit up and purplish energy formed a cage that then collapsed into an opening in reality surrounded by a stone frame with a horned head.
"We need help out there! One of the demonic wards the Illidari put up has gone down again... and there's a huge fel bat perched on top of the generator attacking our friend!" One of the warlocks breathy like spoke before pausing to catch her breath. She just kind of burst out of the portal and we were all surprised.
Since they were guarding the generator before the Summoning Portal could take us right back. The other three warlocks insisted that they were too injured by the fel bat's attacks to really help much.
"I'll go with you, Ms. Witchhawk. Don't worry I've got your back." That mysterious human who just appeared winked and then smiled.
"The Burning Legion must be stopped. Their usage of 'negative' forms of magic are reckless and only tear apart worlds. If anything happens I have your back too. Give me a moment and I'll ensure you don't, um... like die?" I closed my hand and flicked my wrist as a purplish shadow condensed in my hands into a Soul Stone, which was tossed to the human warlock.
I arrived on the scene to see a totally big fel bat bigger than three of us put together perched atop the generator the Illidari set up to create a barrier against rampaging demons. Below the fel bat was its prize: An unconscious Forsaken warlock with long purplish hair and a gray dress/robes on. It screeched and its green eyes glowed creepily. The fel bat flapped her wings and started circling us getting lower and then gliding higher.
We ran to the downed warlock's side and she was too injured to move.
"J-Just keep holding on. I'm going to teleport you out of here... after I help stabilize your condition." I said slightly nervous and anxious, turning her body to catch the fel bat just in time for her to come flying towards her.
She used her huge paws to pick me up and carry me into the sky. I could see some of the devastation the demons were causing on the Broken Shore: Some of the ground looked cracked and broken, there were patches bare of any vegetation and armies of demons went about their patrol routes looking tiny from up....
"Someone help me? Please someone help!" I dramatically screamed high pitched like.
Nazfara rushed to run and stand next to the downed warlock.
Nazfara laughed and conjured two fireballs in her hands by flicking her wrists. She started throwing them at the fel bat's wings. The fel bat and I crashed to the ground and I rolled away from her dazed self. Brushing myself off I shook my head with a rueful smile.
"I could've done without the like little spill. Thank you." I curtsied to the goblin and then looked back at the downed fel bat.
Suddenly she sprang back into life and attacked the orc warlock. She was quick to react by toughing her skin and taking on a slightly more demonic appearance with like scales and small spikes coming out of her arms and shoulders. The fel bat couldn't bite her without injuring itself and decided to turn tail and run to find an easier meal. I got down so my hands could touch the ground and used Drain Life--It was cruel to steal life from the earth and plants yet my friend needed it more. Each drop was funneled into her to heal her wounds and as her body was enveloped into a green cocoon of energies she lost the cuts, bruises and the head injury she had sustained lessened.
The downed warlock slowly got back up. She looked in horror at something behind me and pointed. She was pointing behind me and when I turned around she laughed a kind of haunting laugh like she saw something I didn't. Kind of confused I started laughing girlishly while trying to motion her to come with me back through the portal and she ran back to Dreadscar Rift with everyone else.
"Thank you for helping me save the coven. In return I would like to pledge myself in service to Nazfara if she wishes?" The woman who never gave her name went to stand by Nazfara. She had brown curly hair and glasses, had more weight on her and was the first to warn us about the fel bat attacking her Forsaken friend. Her bravery is lovely.
"... And I wanna get to know that blood elf girl!" The unnamed human warlock animatedly pointed at me with a smile on her face.
"You and I are gonna be good friends lady. Just remember: I wanna share of all the loot we come across. We can divide it up it'll be fair I promise! Ha-ha."
The woman I had helped by stealing life stepped forward to look at me with wide scared eyes. She was a little shorter than I am, had long black curly hair, white skin with freckles and was dressed in a dress that looked like she was going to a fancy event.
"A-Are we going to be like... student and Mistress now?" She asked with trepidation.
"No, you are not my servant. You are a free student of the fel arts and I have no desire to dominate you. I am Destruction specialization so we shall be learning about fire, the Shadows and chaos energies. The fel is usually used to summon demons, open portals or with prolonged exposure can change your body and like make you aggressive. Do you like get what I'm saying?" I crossed my arms and tilted my head, which caused my high ponytail to hang down sideways.
The young woman nodded. Over time of training in areas by the sea to avoid huge fires she became quite skilled with using the Incinerate spell. She could keep it going over water for much longer than I could. The young woman favored curses such as Agony, which she altered to instead make a dreamy feeling, which could be applied multiple times to put an enemy to sleep. One time when I was on a... questionable quest to find a kobold we peacefully navigated Elwynn Forest when she used her modified curse to make the bandits and beasts sleep.
The other girls in her coven were: Aidria a warlock that tried to demonically corrupt plants with a cursed seed, Valentina who was shy and moody and finally the young woman I had been doing quests with: Charisse who summoned wild imps and was actually a succubus.
Another quest we went on was trying to find a mother hydra in Azsuna so we could remove an infestation of aggressive fel spiders. When we arrived on the beach the mother hydra was cowering in her cave occasionally slithering closer to try to bite them with one of her heads. The fel spiders were usually not ever on the beach that I remembered?
Aidria raised her arms with her clawed fingers curled and then stomped on the ground. Then the grass growing in the sand dunes was consumed by corruption, turning sickly yet growing rapidly and entangling the legs of the fel spiders.
Valentina used Drain Soul on one of them. She didn't like to kill her opponents and I wondered: Would the surviving fel spider tell the others about what happened? The fel spider's legs wobbled and it fell face first into the sand.
Charisse cast Unstable Affliction on one of the spiders. It became angry and charged at her quickly hissing. I placed myself between the woman and the spider. I closed my eyes placed my hands together. I asked the ley lines in the earth if they would give me the energy to create fire? And for once I did not corrupt the gift. Flicking the wand in my hand just as it got within range I created a partial Cataclysm and destroyed the spider... as well as heavily damaging my clothes and giving me some burns.
After several more months of getting to know each other the woman revealed that her name was Selrida. I was confused because she said her name was Charisse too and that she sometimes was a Shadow priestess as well as a warlock. She giggled at my naivete and patted me on the head.
"Just be a good girl and we can work together, okay? I can tell... you've got some issues that you need to work out. Maybe we can chat about ways to forget those times you did naughty scarlet girl things, mmm?" Selrida leaned closer to me and looked me in my eyes.
I blinked and blushed. My heart was beating faster and I felt like I was in a trance. Memories of times when I double crossed, lied or harmed people to get my way. It felt like I could never atone or make up for those things. Selrida and I worked out a very loose 'contract,' which was really an agreement that we would share knowledge and arcana tips freely. In exchange she would receive my protection and she would give me advice about how to make up for my past.
