Veli burst up in bed. Thinking back on the last month and feeling comfortable again for the first time in a very long time but she knew that peace couldn’t last. She waited for weeks to tell the woman that she admired and respected of the situation she was in. She fully expected that the Lady Doctor would have cast her off right then and there for putting was known as her family in jeapordy but to Veli’s shock Azuriann took Veli in her arms for a hug and promised to protect her. Said that she was a member of this family now and that she wouldn’t let any harm come to her, and that her father wouldn’t get to her.
She felt loved, protected and, most of all, part of something. Part of a family, something that she had thought she long since lost but even then, she still didn’t feel safe. The nightmares, a different one but the same in many ways happened any time she tried to fall asleep. She would finally pass out from exhaustion and time and time again she saw his face every time she tried to rest. Since the day that he appeared to her and actually showed that he knew who she was and where she went she would see those eyes of his in her dreams and right now was no different.
So as she would sit in the bed in the hospital and the pressure that was building up in her chest was making it hard for her to breathe along with the feeling of dread that was continuously weighing on her body she felt as though she was walking dead. After a while she searched around for anything to tell her what time it was. She didn’t feel safe emerging from the room much less the hospital that she just sat there and waited for something to happen to finally figure out the time but it took a while to actually find out and by the time it happened she was back to sleep.
As much as she was in bed, she could not sleep to save her life. She had awoken several hours later and feeling even more exhausted than when she had fallen back asleep. The voices she heard were of her close friend, Sio and another man that she didn’t believe she had ever met. She searched around the room to find her slippers and a robe to put on over her pajama’s but all she could do was to look at the destruction that was made of the room she had been sleeping in. She had slept through a orc’s blood rage and didn’t even realize it. Finally realizing that she needed to take the advice of the people around her and not letting her father enter her mind so much. Perhaps in the morning she would. Maybe she would talk to the doctor, but for now she had to go and pass out again.
