Burning Soul - Part 3

It was done. Finally, he felt at peace, more settled than he had in such a long time. Truly, now that this being in him was properly contained, he realized just how much it had been affecting him even before Argus’ appearance. That worry in the back of mind was gone. Not only would he not be waking up on fire anymore, but he was now stronger, more powerful and the abyssal could no longer slowly eat away at him. It was now completely under his control.

Of course, he wasn’t quite used to this new found strength. He’d already accidentally broken a door knob and it had only been a day. It was something he was going to need to work on. He didn’t want to end up breaking something important or accidentally crush someone by hugging them too hard. His new powers seemed interesting so far and something he was going to have to continue to fine tune a little bit.

Before going home though, he used one of his porting stones to take himself right to who he wanted to see first. Which was Zelektra, finding himself once again at her cottage, tucked away in Winterspring. After some talk about what he went through to correct his demon issue, she asked that question again. The same one she had asked the last time he was there.

“You never did answer me. Have you met him yet?”

Saeil just fixed his mismatch gaze onto her. He didn’t have to say anything. She already knew the answer.

“Good. That makes it even better that you’ve had this problem properly taken care of. You can better protect him now. That’s what that bond is for. It’s to protect each other. The sun and moon. Warmth and guiding light. That’s what you are to each other. Let him be that for you. I know you have trouble relying on others but sometimes you need it. We all do. Let your loved ones do for you what you do for them.”

Saeil only gave her a teasing smirk and shook his head, “Okay, mother.” He chuckles then gives a more sincere smile while she gave him a scolding stare. “Yeah, I know. I get that. I’m trying to learn how to be better about that.”

“Well, good. Now drink your tea.”

As Saeil reached for the delicate teacup, his mind was elsewhere and he promptly shattered it in his hand with a curse. Damn new strength. As he looked up at Zelektra, he found her just giving him a deadpan look then sighed, shaking her head. “Remind me to send Sia a thank you note.”

Sighing, Saeil just grumbled and went back to sending a text to Thaen, telling her he’d be home soon, which only brought a smile back to his face.
